Have anyone tried installing Fault Tolerance in an initial standalone setup? Is there a way to have that kind of environment without the loss of data?

since we are on 3.5 and Fault Tolerance is available, can we upgrade to that environment without affecting our existing data on DA and DRs? Is it a clean setup or is there a way to load the data back into the DRs?

    Hi Rizaldy,

Good question. Not exactly sure of the answer.

We're doing some testing now in labs after conferring with engineering.

    Should have some answers soon.

Current thought is simple over-installs of the DA and DC, answering the FT config questions in the affirmative, will update things without impact. Lets see what we get after looking more closely.

    More to come,

    Mike

    Hi again Rizaldy,

I reached out to engineering and performed a couple of upgrade tests.

At this time there is no way to properly configure FT for an existing environment via upgrade. Only during new/fresh installs.

With the pending r3.6 release the upgrade code was modified to ask about configuring FT in an existing environment.

Upgrade to r3.6 when available and use that release to configure FT in your already installed environment successfully.

    Thanks,

    Michael

Well, 3.6 will definitely help in implementing FT to an existing environment. So I could say that I need to wait for the 3.6.

    Thanks Mike for the reply.
