  • 1.  CA Service Desk Manager integration with Rapid7 Tool?

    Posted Mar 21, 2018 07:10 AM

We need to use CA Service Desk manager and integrate it with the Rapid7 VM tool. I came across a few articles where it says that Lieberman's RED software can be integrated with Rapid7 and CA Service Desk both. But is it possible to integrate Rapid7 with the CA Service Desk manager via this software?

    Hi Divya,

There is no OOTB integration that I'm aware of, for SDM with Rapid7. Perhaps if you can shed some details as to what the integration is meant to achieve, we can throw some ideas around.

    Hi Brian,

So we are planning to use Rapid7 Nexpose which is a vulnerability

management tool, and we need to raise tickets based on the criticality of

the risks generated, for which we want to use CA Service Desk Manager. Is

there any way we can connect SDM with Rapid7 so that we can raise these

tickets. Will nexpose API work for this or lieberman's RED software as a

connector between them? Or is there any other way of integrating them?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Hi Divya,

Depending on the complexity you can use several options:

    1. Webservices or ITPAM,  if you need to keep the two systems in sync for whatever reason.

    2. If this Rapid7 tool can send emails and all you are interested in in just raising a ticket in SDM, then you could also use something as simple as sending an email to SDM from Rapid7 to create the ticket based on vulnerability alert from Rapid7, without really integrating the two tools.
