  • 1.  Issue with One Click clients

    Posted Sep 08, 2016 06:54 AM

We have a real strange problem which tried all I know to resolve.

Basically we log into a terminal server session to access One Click for UMI. On the same terminal server, my One Click is very quick but a colleagues is very slow. I have seen this by running both OC's on same TS session and one is significantly slower after logging on, for example splash screen coming up or even expanding a GC etc.

Obviously checked Java cache etc but of course on a Terminal Server we are using the same basic Java etc.

We do see a java error saying JQuery is undefined but if a Java problem I should be affected. We did upgrade the memory on OC BUT this was occurring before hand.

    thanks

    Ian

Can you provide the contents of your /Install-Tools/.history from both the MLS and your OC?  I believe we had some performance fixes but they are very dependent on the exact version you are running.  I’ll have to go back through our PTFS to check…

The only other thing it might be is if you have custom columns showing or columns that are for external attributes.  One thing you can do is reset the columns to the default and see if the issue persists.

    Thanks ☺

    Hi Ian,

I took a look through the PTF patches for 9.4 but didn't see anything that stands out that would help here.  What happens if you create a brand new user?  Is there a possibility you can destroy the user that has the performance issue and recreate it?  Are any other users experiencing this or is it only the one user?  If it's only the one user, I would think it was user model related, so destroying/recreating would hopefully fix it.

The only other thing I can think would be to reproduce the issue and gather tomcat and java client stack dumps at the time of the delay.   I don't know it that will reveal anything though...

    Cheers

Tried that Jason. We have a group of users affected and moved them fro groups deleted and recreated. Guess as no one else has this problem to raise a fault call ?

    Huh, that’s unfortunate…

Do you have any plans to install 9.4.4 or 10.x?  9.4.0 is quite old…If you are going to be upgrading in the near future it would honestly be better to see if the issue still exists after the upgrade as there have been major code changes since 9.4.0 was released.

Otherwise, yeah, probably opening a ticket would be needed.

    Cheers

yes we do have some plans to go to 10.1 but this is not likely to be for 2/3 months.

I will raise a ticket thanks.
