Spectrum ParseMap Files

    Can anyone help? I'm trying to use the Spectrum ParseMap files to take a logfile I am creating and using the ParseMap files assert events to hosts as detailed in the log file.

    I've created a ParseMap File called PORT_MON_CHECK I've got the SystemEDGE Agent monitoring a log file where the following error messages are being written:

    Mon Jan 27 16:52:19 GMT 2014 00.000.000.000: %PORT-MON-CHECK, (Eror Text)

    Am I reading the manual correctly and I can use any log file as long as the entries are written in BSD Syslog format? Or does this process only work on the syslog log files?
