  • 1.  How to monitor an ODBC connection with UIM?

    Posted Jun 28, 2018 12:16 PM

    Hello to all,

I have a customer with a legacy application (delphi .EXE running on windows), that makes connection to a MS SQL database remotely (WAN connection).

Sometimes the app freezes accessing/receiving data to the database, and later comeback to the normal operations. The customer reports no problem with the SQL server machine, local LAN and the WAN connection (using their tools).

The only area without monitoring it’s the ODBC connection.

That are the best way to monitoring that?

We are unable to use APM/AXA in this case.

    Regards,

    Guillermo

    Hello!

The support guys recommend use the sql_response probe.

"The SQL Response Monitor probe executes SQL queries using ADO or ODBC connectivity. The probe then evaluates the response time, number of returned rows, and returned value."

    I hope it's useful.
