Which BOXI Install DVD

We have been running a single Windows-based Business Intelligence server, shared between Spectrum and SOI, for a few years, and we are planning to install the 3.3 version on a new server. However, a Windows Business Intelligence 3.3 version is supplied on the downloads page of BOTH the SOI (DVD0215557E) and Spectrum (DVD08113322M) products. What is the difference between these, and which should we use?

Update: Kiet mentioned that the Spectrum DVD has some additional post-install Patch files.

Each product will typically have their own cabi iso associated with it.  Each application such as spectrum or soi will

more than likely be performing some cabi post install steps which gets executed automatically by the cabi installer,

such as updating the registry or deploying war files.

You can use a single cabi install and share that among products but you must be sure that any product

specific required steps are executed.

 

For instance if you installed cabi from the SOI product line you can still use spectrum with that instance of cabi

but you would need to obtain the cabi iso associated with the spectrum product line and manually execute the spectrum

specific post install binary:

 

Disk1\cabi\patch\CA_NVM_EXE\nvm_boxi_post_install_windows.exe
