  • 1.  Spectrum/Jasper:  Support for RHEL 7.4??

    All,

     

    Can anyone validate if Spectrum and Jasper Reports will support RHEL 7.4?

     

    Spectrum is listed as supporting RHEL 7.x, while Jasper reports lists 7.2.

     

    Security vulnerabilities have been identified in RHEL 7.2 so an upgrade to 7.4 is required.

    Hi Karen,

     

    I have opened a ticket with TIBCO to get official word.

    Their official documentation indicates that 7.x is not even supported, so I suspect to get that back as a response.

     

    CA likely certified up to 7.2, and have not had a chance to certify 7.4.

    I am going to guess 7.4 is not currently supported.

     

    I would suggest working around the vulnerabilities if/where possible.

    Thank you.  I did open a support case and asked our internal project team to reach out to engineering.  I will keep the suggestion in mind.

    So TIBCO indicated that “Officially” No, it is not supported.

    They did indicate that some other customers have installed it on 7.4 and did their own testing/certification in house.

    They can certainly do that from a CA perspective but obviously CA Support reserves the right to indicate that as a potential cause if we cannot determine what is causing any particular issue.

     

    Best way is to wait on how CA will handle it.

    We very well could certify 7.4 with the next release of Jasper.

    may i ask what is the status here? Is Jasper supported with the latest 7.x release? If not, what it the highest RHEL release that is being supported

    Yes, Jasper supports RHEL 7.2 release. Here is the system requirements for reference:

    We are waiting for an official statement from TIBCO for RHEL 7.4, and as soon as we hear back from them, we will certify the OS.
