    Hi

Is there any way we can monitor the windows service accounts (NT domain accounts) so that spectrum will genarate a alarm when the accounts gets locked out. We know there is a plugin for spectrum by name "Active Directory and Exchange Server Management" . But we are not sure whether it will monitor the account lock out issue or not. Can some one please advice on this?

    Regards

I believe when a Windows account gets locked out you can configure Windows to generate error on Windows Event Log. If you can install CA SystemEDGE and model the server on Spectrum, you can configure SystemEDGE to trigger alarm on Spectrum.

Please refer to CA SystemEDGE User Guide Release 5.6 for more details.

    Hi,

Windows Server support sending windows event log as traps via evntwin.exe.

Personally I'd prefer a more consolidated solution such as SystemEDGE (if you're a CA shop), but you can also get the results you want thus by sending the relevant event IDs as traps.

    Take a look at:

Windows Server 2008 Event Log SNMP Traps | Question Driven

Once you have the trap with OID set, you can map it to an event within Spectrum.
