  • 1.  ca pc java proccess high cpu / memory

    Posted Nov 29, 2020 06:12 AM
hi, we have noticed that in our Data Aggregator there is a java proccess that uses 50% memory from the server,
    and 70%-200% CPU.

any one had this issue before?
it has started 3 days ago.

** the ca pc works fine, but we have noticed that it uses a lot of memory and cpu in the past few days...

would like to get help where the logs are, and what could be the problem.

    thank you !

    Hi Magen,

A good place to start is the following info.

    • What release of Performance Management is in use?
    • How many CPU cores are on the servers? What is their speed?
    • How much RAM is on the servers?
    • What OS is the software installed on?
Beyond that, this article shows how to reconfigure the memory usage for the Data Aggregator. It can also be used, for a case like this, to confirm if it's configured properly.

Configure Data Aggregator (DA) to make use of added memory

This article provides the same for Performance Center: How to configure Performance Center to use new memory resources

    Hope that helps.

Did you do any discoveries recently?  Has there been an increase in device and component count?

CPU use will vary depending on what the DA is doing.  The DA does many diff tasks.  Thresholding, data loading, change detection, UI/RIB reporting, odata reporting, ETL processing, syncing with PC, etc... These also can cause memory to rise and fall as it's used and freed for Java to reclaim.
