Hi All,
BGP is a known protocol. Most of the bgp alerts in Spectrum are configured as a trap.
Is there any way out , we can filter on BGP traps for a specific IP address, so that it doesn't get converted into an alert.
Yes, sure! You can either use a front mechanism (like Trap Exploder) to filter out some traps coming from some IPs, or you use an eventrule to drop events in case it falls into the condition you want to exclude (with an EventCondition).
Hi Chris,,
Is there something I can follow up/ work on how to configure to drop the events .
You could follow the documentation about Event Rules : https://docops.ca.com/ca-spectrum/10-2-3/en/managing-network/event-configuration/working-with-event-rules#WorkingwithEventRules-EventConditionRules
Do you have BGP Manager on? If so, turn it off first and see if that helps. If not, edit the events as Christophe noted.
VNM – Component Detail – SpectroSERVER Control – BGP Manager – BGP Peer Session Monitoring – Set to Disabled.
Cheers
Jay
