  • 1.  Containers and VNM in Initial State

    Posted Jan 25, 2017 10:08 AM

    Dears,

We are facing an issue where primary SpectroSERVER is showing all the containers and vnm model in Initial state after switch over activity (all devices are showing Active state)

Also its not processing any new events on the devices, and when we are going in locator -->all devices its not showing any devices discovered under this spectroserver.

Strange things is when we go to Universe all devices are present there.

Has anyone faced this scenario or any suggestion on that?

    Regards

Check the Percent Models Activated field under the General Information subview in the Information tab of the VNM model. The VNM will not go green until all models have been activated. Device models will not appear in the Results tab of the search until they have been activated.

    Hi Joe,

Its showing 0% and when i am checking for thread information for activation process of spectroserver its showing 0.

I check the model state for all the devices and its showing Active, not sure why SpectroSERVER is behaving like this...

    Ajit,

Try reinitializing the database to a recent database save file.

    Dears,

It went through the activation process after 1 and half hour. But the strange thing which we observed is though the model activation was going on in the background (which we guess based on cpu, I/O utilization of SpectroSERVER process) same was not getting reflected on the console.

As we observed model activation percentage for more than an hour and it was still showing 0% but suddenly it pops up with 99% completion.

Not even log file showed any entry about activation process though we have debug enabled for model activation.

Did you upgrade Spectrum recently? Is SpectroSERVER process consuming high CPU usage? If you use OneClick Console and go to VNM Model -> Information tab -> SpectroSERVER Control -> Thread Information, what threads are being used?

Could you encounter known duplicate JuniperSlot model issue?
