DTS-Fehler: E (407) Failed calling file filter

Hi,

 

we have some remote Computers conntected by vpn Internet tunnel to ITCM.

Sometimes i get  error :

 

DTS-Fehler: E (407) Failed calling file filter <DIRTREE_READ>; errmsg=<E (561)E (407) Failed calling file filter

 

I raise DTS: Timelimit  Filter-Task 7 to 30 but get the same error massage.

 

Which value do you have  ?

Are these agents reporting to a specific SS? Was the package staged to the SS?

Is there a specific reason you have increased the DTS: Timelimit  Filter-Task 7 value?

The error usually happens if the package is not accessible or missing.

 

What is the job timeout set to?

Agents directly reporting to Domain Manager there is no other SS in the Network.

Staushelp for this error say that we have to increase DTS: Timelimit.

Jobtimelimit is 7 days.

Check on the DOMAIN if this directory is valid :

C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\SD\ASM\LIBRARY\activate\378351F9-2DDE-4080-864C-71BC438AAAB0.itm

 

Maybe it is a broken junction link.

Most likely a network band width issue.  Try making the parcel size smaller in the dts agent section of configured policy

Yes that basically says how much data should be sent at a time.  The number  basicly says how much data can be sent and acknowledged in 1 second.

 

The sender sends data and waits for an acknowledgement.  That wait is 1 second.  If it does not get a response in 1 second it assumes the message was dropped and goes into retry mode.

Yes i´m in trouble with DTS.

 

There are three problems I see.

 

First one is that DTS work extreme slow.

I only use DTS on Remote systems that connected via Internet and VPN tunnel.

I know that speed depends on internet connectivity, but some clients with fast internet connections have trouble too.

One pc was directly connected to our network, speed was slow again.

Hi Hans Dieter,

 

Maybe a DTS parcel size of 524288 bytes is too high. DTS should be able to send 524288 bytes within 60 seconds otherwise a timeout occurs.

 

You could change the DTS parcel size in a configuration policy applied on the ITCM Domain Manager.

For example you could try a parcel size of 128 Kb (131072 bytes) :

 

DSM/Software Delivery/File Transfer/DTS: Default maximum parcel size = 131072

 

 

 

This parameter should only be changed on the configuration policy applied on the DOMAIN Manager (it is not necessary to update it on configuration policy applied on Scalability Servers or Agents).
