    Hi,

The Update Event Configuration button is on the VNM model in the Component Detail area under SpectroSERVER Control.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

I installed version 10.2.0 of CA Spectrum may be that's the reason I didn't found the option 'update event configuration'.Is it correct?

Didn't found in administration page also.

    Thanks,

    Geetika

    Hi Phani,

I followed the dynamic alarm title configuration for BGP protocol video for event customization in ca spectrum and I have done with all the steps provided in that video however it shouldn't give the result. Please suggest, if will I do any modifications to the spectro server or any in spectrum environment.

My ultimate output is to add the data to alarm title column in oneclick console alarm view.

    Thanks,

    Geetika

Would you mind sharing the part of the EventDisp and AlertMap related to that configuration you made?

    Here are the files:

    AlertMap:

    1.3.6.1.4.1.1872.2.5 0xfff00007 1.3.6.1.4.1.1872.2.5.3.1.12.1(1,0)

    EventDisp:

    0x00220011 P "\
    CreateEventWithVariables(\
    {C CURRENT_MODEL},
    {H 0xfff00007},\
    SetEventVariable(\
    GetEventVariableList(),\
    {H 0x00012b4c},\
    Append(\
    {S\"BGP backward transition. Peer router:\"},\
    GetEventVariable({U 5}))))"
    0xfff00007 A 3,0xfff00007

    Thanks,

    Geethika

There is definitely something wrong then.

AlertMap is converting a received trap into the event 0xfff00007. This event will contain one single variable (v 1).

                    1.3.6.1.4.1.1872.2.5 0xfff00007 1.3.6.1.4.1.1872.2.5.3.1.12.1(1,0)

Then, the EventDisp is generating an critical alarm with 0xfff00007 as a cause code when the event 0xfff00007 is generated.

    0xfff00007 A 3,0xfff00007

So to summarize what is there :

    EVENT 0xfff00007 è ALARM 0xfff00007

On top of that, you have another event (0x00220011) which triggers a procedure which generates itself the event 0xfff00007.

    So, couple of questions:

    1. Do you really want to have either a trap (1.3.6.1.4.1.1872.2.5) AND the event 0x00220011 generating the same alarm?
    2. If that is what you want, you understand in the case the event is generated because of a corresponding trap being received, the title won't be dynamic, because the event variable 76620 wouldn't be filled-in?
    3. Did you enable the following lines in the .vnmrc : "event_disp_error_file=eventdisp_debug.log” and "procedure_error_file=procedure_debug.log"? If yes, please, share the debug files and if not, do it, restart the SS and generate the event triggering the procedure again to have debug information.
    4. Can you share the EventDisp (and AlertMap) part related to the event 0x00220011?

    Hi Christophe,

I am able to add data to alarm title and I am able to understand what I did wrong.

    Thanks,

    Geetika

If you have a varbind in the trap which contains the whole text you want to use as a title, you can map it on the event variable 76620 which will make the title dynamic (documentation details: Working with Events and Alarms - CA Spectrum - 10.2 to 10.2.2 - CA Technologies Documentation ) but if you want to do something a bit more complicated, you'll have to rely on Event Procedures (using the "Append" function) which is described here: Examples of Procedures in Event Disposition Files - CA Spectrum - 10.2 to 10.2.2 - CA Technologies Documentation.
