  • 1.  How SDM saves variables?

Hi, I ask for your support to know how the SDM saves the variables of a specific Script in the Activity Log so that this variable can be manipulated and stored in a new field.
    Best regards.

    Hello Luis,

Can you go over what you're trying to achieve in more detail? Not the method, but the end result.

The reason is that lots of things write to the Activity Log. Some of the text you can control directly through how it is created, such as Notifications. Some of the entries are coming from SPL code or compiled code.

You can also switch on field level auditing to record the update of a field to the Activity Log.

In general, if you want to capture things in real time, typically a SPL trigger is required . . . but it requires knowledge of what is changing so you can put the trigger against it.

Finally, the Activity Log is often the largest and busiest table in Service Desk Manager. It's probably best to avoid interacting with it directly or placing additional activity to it, if it can be avoided.

    Thanks, Kyle_R.
