Is it possible to use Pingable Model to process the SBGW events?

Hi All,

 

We have a tool installed on a server where only ICMP is permitted and hence modeled it as pingable. The team has enabled SNMP traps to Spectrum to generate events and alarms based on the trap varbinds.

 

Now, the new requirement is to assert the alarms on respective models based on the varbind which holds the host name.

 

I read through the documents and I can see only the EventAdmin and below host types can be used to process the SBGW events.

Host_Dell

Host_Compaq

Host_IBMDirector

Host_Sun

Host_systemEDGE

 

Is there a way that I can use pingable to process the SBGW events and assert the alarms on respective models?

The Pingable model cannot be used in this instance. Recommend using the EventAdmin model.

Create both and set Disable Trap-Based Events on the pingable to Yes.
