Open as pop up is not working on portlet link

Hi Friends,

I have created a portlet and one of the column attributes are hyperlinked with a link.

And I have checked the check box "open as popup".

But still when I click on the attribute the subpage is opening in a new tab.

I have tried in IE and chrome.

 

Can anyone suggest what could be the reason  ?

Is the pop-up blocked on the IE / Chrome ?

Ok, just checked in IE 11

 

Please follow the steps and see if it helps -

1. Open IE (I've IE 11)

2. Click on Tools > Internet Options

3. Under the General tab, under the section Tabs, click on the button Tabs

4. Select the option as highlighted -

Hello NJ,

 

The page is opening as popup. but it is not the popup page.

One thing I observed if I am clicking on the object based portlet it is opening as a popup.

But for the query based portlet it is not working.

Hello Lala,

 

The pop-up works for me on a query based portlet. Are you sure assigning a proper link to the correct attribute? Also, what version of CA Clarity PPM are you using? There may be cases when the pop-up may open in a new tab/window rather than an actual pop-up as this has happened with me in the past.

I am using Clarity 13.1 currently.

Is there any defect number CA is having against it?

Hello Lala,

 

The pop-up feature may have been enhanced in v13.3 as it seems to be working for me on v13.3. But, then again, it may also have to do with the version of the browser that you may be using.

might be the clarity version.

I don't think for the browser version. as the popup for object based portlet is working fine.

Friends, I have a similar situation on Clarity 13.3.

 

We have object portlet and has two hyperlinks -

1. From an attribute to open the object property page(default)

2. From a virtual attribute to open a link which is created using a html porlet.

 

We checked "open as popup" for both the options, but when I click on the second attribute it is opening in a new tab. Since the first link works fine, it is not an issue with browser setting.

Can anyone help me to sort this out.
