I am new to CA Spectrum, Recently got a handover to manage spectrum. I see lot of challenges to manage events.

I see an chassis alarm mostly but network people report it as false but when I do snmp poll it does not respond however it responds to SNMP. Is it possible to configure another event in case device does not respond to ICMP only.

A chassis down alarm may be displayed on a chassis device when the actual device goes down.  If it’s a Cisco device, you can disable this functionality:

    Change the EnableEntityModuleModeling to False

    Reconfigure the device

This will remove the chassis modeling and when the device goes down (but ICMP stays up) you will get an orange (major) “Management Agent Lost Alarm”.  If the ICMP is down as well as the SNMP, you will get a red (critical) “Device Has Stopped Responding To Polls” alarm.

    Cheers
