In accordance with the End of Service / End of Life Policy within the Broadcom Maintenance Policy Handbook, please consider the attached as your written notification that we will be discontinuing technical support for CA Virtual Assurance for Infrastructure Managers (CA VAIM) versions 12.6, 12.7 and 12.7.1 effective 12 January 2022.

Is there an EOS for version 12.9?

January 12, 2021 CA Technologies, A Broadcom Company, is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers; we thank you for your business that makes this possible. As part of our regular product planning cycle, we have reviewed the position of CA Virtual Assurance for Infrastructure Managers (CA VAIM) in the marketplace, from both a sales and technology perspective. We have determined that while this product still provides useful functions to some customers, its value to most customers has declined significantly over the past few years as alternative solutions have gained in value, including options provided by Broadcom. Therefore, we have decided to stabilize CA VAIM. In accordance with the Broadcom Maintenance Policy Handbook, please consider this email as your written notification that we will be stabilizing CA VAIM version 12.9 effective January 12, 2021. Functionally stabilizing a product means there will be no new Versions or Releases or further enhancements to this product. However, maintenance and support for this product will continue in accordance with your active maintenance contract for CA VAIM. Stabilization will allow our development organization to focus its resources and add value to the next release of DX Infrastructure Manager, which is our recommended transition path for CA VAIM users. At this time, we recommend you explore DX Infrastructure Manager as soon as possible and take full advantage of this modern, comprehensive software offering. This is the email that I received last January.

Seems like 12.6/12.7 have a definitive EOS.  But 12.9 is based on our contract only.   This would imply it could be extended.  Most products have a EOS, but this one doesnt have a clear line in the sand.

I will follow up with our contract folks.

As of now, CA Virtual Assurance for Infrastructure Managers v12.9 has been stabilized and the official EOS announcement would be made soon. Meanwhile, as the Product Manager responsible for this product line, I would love to hear more about your usage and requirements so that we can work out a proper migration plan for you.

Hi Ravishu, we are in the process of migrating to UIM and should be completed by the end of March.  I just wanted to make sure we still had support for 12.9 until we are done.  I am getting good support on VAIM right now when needed.
