VNA on same server as Spectrum

We have a very small Cisco ACI network and get visability into it - I'm thinking of installing CA VNA on same servers as were I run Spectrum. Any comment on this? Anyone done the same?

    Hi RoberthEdberg

This is not a recommended setup. Request you to have separate it out.

    Thanks,

I can understand that its not a recommended setup, but is it possible? In my case I have a very limited Cisco ACI network which hardly motivate running separate VNA servers - as it mean both extra cost and extra maintenance.

Is there a sizing calculator available for VNA?

    Hi RoberthEdberg

We do not have a true sizer for VNA yet. If you can tell me about number of Compute Nodes and number of VM's per Compute Node (approximate)?

Also I am assuming this is just for your testing purpose or for test lab. Right?

    Thanks,

Yes its our test environment where we have 2 compute nodes running about 5 VM's in each. But lets say 4 compute nodes and about 20 VM's each. I guess our test environment will grow during the coming months.

So what I would like todo is to install the VNA on then same server as I have Spectrum running and if/when our installation grows - then I will decide to move it onto a separate server.

We will scale up to around 20 compute nodes and 30 VM per node - when we are up flying. What specs would be for VNA in this case?

And we are integrating VNA with Spectrum NOT with Performance Centre, which I suspect drive a lot more performance.

    Hi RoberthEdberg

Understood. Looks reasonable to me. Since this is for just testing purpose hence I think you should be good.

But I would like to caution that this is not a supported scenario and hence not recommended.

    Thanks,

It was a simple install. So no problem to run on same machine. I found another "problem": The Cisco ACI plugin wasn't included in the VNA package. Were can I get it?

    Hi RoberthEdberg

    Thanks,
