ETA for Spectrum 10.2?

  • 1.  ETA for Spectrum 10.2?

    Posted Oct 20, 2016 01:00 PM

    Greetings,

We are in the planning stages for our Spectrum 10.x upgrade.  Has there been any update on when 10.2 can be expected?  We are currently running Spectrum 9.4.1.  Will a direct upgrade path be supported with 10.2 as well?

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

Spectrum 10.2 is targeted to release by the end of this year. You can upgrade directly from Spectrum 9.4.1 to Spectrum 10.2.

We also have a beta program running for Spectrum 10.2 right now. You can get a sneak peak if you want by joining our beta program.

    Regards,

Is there a document or published list of confirmed new features and enhancements?   I am looking specifically for Jaspersoft CABI on Linux rather than Windows, and the features being added to the web client since we have so many JAVA security patching issues between competing applications on our user workstations.

I just found this on another search : CA Spectrum 10.2: What's New    this answered a lot of my questions.   If there is more pre-release notes, I would like to investigate that as well.

I am also wanting to see the full change log or release notes, as the video provided highlights but I want the details.

    Hi thomas.w.burgett and karl.haworth

The release notes will be available as soon as product is GA. To answer your specific question; yes, Jasper for Linux is for sure there

    Thanks,

Ah. Based on the 10.2 video posted by CA and other posts I've seen recently, I assumed it was already released. Confusing.

    Hi Guys,

Will SPEC 10.2 support direct upgrade from SPEC 9.2.3?

And we are expecting ETA week on 12/25?

    Thanks.

CA Spectrum 10.2 will not allow for direct upgrades from 9.2.3 due to conversions needed.  You will have 3 options:

    1.       Install 9.4.0 on top and then install 10.2 (or if using new hardware, use the migrate steps to move your SSdb to a new machine, then install 9.4.0 on top of the SSdb and then install 10.2).

    2.       If you only want to keep your models you can install 10.2 on a new server and load your models only from 9.2.3.

    3.       Install 10.2 and use modeling gateway to export/import your models from 9.2.3 into 10.2.

10.2 is expected to release by the end of the year.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi thomas.w.burgett

As per legal guidelines we are not supposed to put a date . But you will hear about the release very soon.
