  • 1.  Clearing patch files post installation of patches

    Hello,

I have upgraded my gateway recently and the patch files are stored at /opt/SecureSpan/Controller/var/patches. It occupies close to 1 GB of space in the /opt file system. Can we delete these patch files once the patch has been installed successfully? Will this cause any issue with the gateway or will this result in reversing of the patch itself?

The files that are created in the location "/opt/SecureSpan/Controller/var/patches" post patch installation are:

    Layer7_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v8.3.00.L7P.LCK

    Layer7_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v8.3.00.L7P

    Layer7_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v8.3.00.status

    Layer7_v8.3.00.L7P.LCK

    Layer7_v8.3.00.L7P

    Layer7_v8.3.00.status

    Thank You!

    Regards,

    Karthik

Yes, just don't touch the *.status files.

Can I delete the *.LCK files as well along with *.L7P ones?

Im not sure on the official answer of the *.lck files, but i believe i've deleted them without any weird behavior ( either way they shouldn't be taking up space ), the L7P ones can be deleted once they are installed.

I got an official confirmation from CA support to not delete the *.LCK ones. I have deleted the *.L7P and found no impact.

    Thanks!
