  • 1.  Linking Client Automation and APM - Best Practice?

The two products have separate MDBs.

Is it better to link through the Asset Converter, or to create an Enterprise Server and share its MDB with the APM MDB?

    Opinions?

What versions are you using / planning to integrate?

    Check these references for background:

CA Green Books - Service and IT Asset Management - CA Technologies

    My Rule of Thumb:

If your primary business needs are driven by the advantages of a shared MDB; then install the ITCM (Client Automation) Enterprise.  The downside is that all integrated products must be shutdown when performing MDB related patches/upgrades.

More details will help others here to advise.

Is CA SAM in the mix at all?  But as JW stated, it all depends on business need... what are you trying to accomplish by linking them?
