Experience, best practices, feedbacks on Test Cases names?

Hello,

 

I know there is not only 1 good answer regarding this but could someone share best practices or experiences regarding how to name test cases, particularly when working with ALM?

Before using ARD, I have several customers who had almost all the steps description in their test case names. Same approach with ARD (considering the number of blocks may not be relevant.

 

Any tips, thought, suggestion?

Usually there is a character limit in the test case name, so I would suggest keeping it short. 

 

Also, no special characters.

Just keep them short, keep them simple and keep them unique. eg add a date and time.

Stay away from all special characters, the API from ALM is particularly bad at handling these
