  • 1.  Juniper SRX failover alarming

    Hi,

I've got Spectrum 9.4.2.1.62 installed at my customer. I'm monitoring Juniper SRX devices (360 and 550). Devices are working in pairs. When primary goes down, secondary takes over. This is a failover scenario. I'd like to know when this happens. Either through SNMP polling or traps. Does Spectrum have out of the box functionality to detect SRX failovers? If not, is there a way to configure it?

    Hi Omar,

I am not aware of any built in functionality for High Availability Failovers for Juniper SRX devices, but I have seen something similar that was configured for Cisco ACE High Availability.

For Cisco, they have a Mib that is populated for High Availability

     CISCO-L4L7MODULE-REDUNDANCY-MIB

    OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.650

You can create a SpectroWatch to watch this value

    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.650.1.1.4.1.2 clrRedundancyState

I would check with the Vendor Juniper to see if the Juniper SRX has something similar and if so you can create a watch to watch the HA mib object.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Glenn
