Most applications that are deployed with CA Release Automation (RA) are common .NET or Java architectures, but increasing use of SaaS applications is driving a need for a common release and deployment process that can address the unique aspects of SaaS. "CA on CA" is a ongoing initiative by CA's own GIS unit to use CA's products to manage our extensive IT operations and development. Recently we collaborated with the GIS team responsible for Salesforce.com (SFDC) and released a RA Action Pack for Salesforce, which uses metadata discovery actions and more to version control and manage SFDC releases. Sathish Chandrasekaran chasa16.1 had the audience engaged as he shared details on the project. With all the questions, it's clear that we're on to something that adds value to SaaS releases too.
