  • 1.  Prevent users from Deleting Task milestones

    Hi All,

    Is there any way we can prevent users from deleting task milestones. Managers are using OWB and Clarity for planning. What is the best possible way to restrict deleting the task. If that is not possible, is there any way we could be notified if someone deletes a milestone task?

    Hi Nipun, 

    What I understand from your explanation is that the managers are opening the projects in schedulers like OWB and Clarity PPM Gantt. And you want them to be restricted from deleting tasks or milestones (which a kind of task as well). However, I would like to confirm that it is not possible. People who are scheduling a project is having Project Management rights and they are allowed to delete, create and modify existing tasks. So, as per Access is concern, you cannot stop them from deleting a Milestone or Task. 

    As per my knowledge, it is not possible to notify someone when an object instance is deleted. Clarity has the ability to do that when a new instance is created or updated.

    There are two aspect one is user education and one is technical abilities. As a saying with great powers comes the responsibility. PM are empowered to manage the project and they should be educated on what to be deleted and what not. 

    You can use the help of auditing at clarity and database audits can also be enabled and you can see who deleted. Also you have app access log and you can scan to see who has deleted and create a report out of it
