  • 1.  Time Sync between the DE servers

    Posted Aug 16, 2020 08:30 AM
    Hi,

What should be the ideal clock sync difference between the primary and standby servers?

Do we also need to check clock synchronization difference between App servers and DB servers?

Can App servers and DB servers be in two different time zones?

    Thanks
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj,
The clock difference between two servers should be below 500 ms (milliseconds).  Ideally around 100-200 ms difference is good.

You don't need to check the clock difference between App and DB servers.  However, you should have NTP or domain to make sure your servers are synced.

The app or DE and database can reside on two different timezones and app will still work.  It is recommended to have latency below 100-50 ms between app and DB.
