  • 1.  Version compatibility between CA WA Server 11.3.6 SP5 and CA WA Agent version

    The latest version available are

    CA Workload Automation Agent AE - MULTI-PLATFORM (SP7)
    CA Workload Automation AE Remote Agent - MULTI-PLATFORM (SP7)

    CA Workload Automation AE Production Server - MULTI-PLATFORM (11.3.6 SP5)

     

    Please help to answer the below questions

     

    What is the compatible Agent version for the latest AE Server 11.3.6 SP5.

    What is the difference between Agent AE and AE Remote Agent?

    What is the difference between Agent and Standalone Agent version?

    The CA WA Agent SP7 is compatible with CA WAAE 11.3.6 SP5.

    The CA WA Agent can be installed using the CA WAAE media or via the Agent standalone media. It is the same agent, the only difference is the CA WAAE media will also configure the ASAPI for BLOB support.

    Thanks for the response to 1st and 3rd question. Can you please reply to 2nd question?

     

    What is the difference between Agent AE and AE Remote Agent?  In the download products sections, I can see both

     

    CA Workload Automation Agent AE - MULTI-PLATFORM (SP7)
    CA Workload Automation AE Remote Agent - MULTI-PLATFORM (SP7)

    The CA Workload Automation AE Remote Agent - MULTI-PLATFORM and CA Workload Automation AE Remote Agent - MULTI-PLATFORM options both provide the same media: DVD01145522E.iso.

    So my answer applies to both the 2nd and 3rd question.

    Hi Mark,

    With no intent to add any confusion, is there a difference in which one Agent is 32-bit and it's installation brings along the Client and the other one is a vanilla 64-bit Agent, or am I living in the past?

    Hi Chris,

     

    You are living in the past with respect to the agent install co-req'ing the client. That is no longer the case.

     

    You do bring up a good point with respect to 32bit vs. 64bit. The CA WAAE media will install a 32bit agent only.

    There are installers for 64bit agents (where supported) on the standalone agent media.
