Getting "Port is unsuccessful" error in FTP job.

Hi,
I am setting up an ftp agent (windows 2008 server) as only a client where
added the next parameters in the agentparam.txt (see agentparam.txt attached):
plugins.start_internal_6=ftp
security.level=on
ftp.serverport=23

In adittion, I also modified the security.txt file changing all access to
"allow" (see security.txt file attached).
Finally, i created the ftp user in the agent (topology CAWA), executed the
command "ftpusrcfg.bat -a user pass", create the user in the windows server
as administrator and restarted the agent (windows) and manager (linux)
services.

When i executed the application with a FTP object trying to downloading a
file the CAWA returns me an error "PORT is unsuccessful". Do you know why the
manager didnt recognize the port even if I set it in the agentparam file?.

Please, i attached the agentparam.txt, security.txt, agent log files, job's
spoolfile.

I looks like it is because port 23 is registered with IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) as a ‘Telnet protocol—unencrypted text communications’ port. Basically, ports 0-1023 are pretty much used as system ports. Check with the Windows Admin to see what ports are available on that server and try using a different port.

Hi John,
Thank you for your help. I tested others ports like 22, 30, 2121, and so on
getting the same error.
I added ftp.passive=true property in the agentparam.txt and the FTP job
worked.
