Fields Administration

For any Custom fields management, I'm having a really hard time figuring out which field is visible in which project. 

How is everyone else handling this challenge?

Is there any upgrade to this coming anytime soon?

Any inputs will be appreciated.

I've been using the initials of the team (project) name as a prefix to the field name.  That keeps them all together and easily identifiable.
