    Can you add some more context? Are you just trying to add something in the description field?

    You could add a custom filed (probably Text) to defects which would allow your Dev team to fill out the RCA.

    Hi

    I have added a root cause to my workspace, however because it is not mandatory, it relies on users remembering to capture it. Furthermore, it would be nice to have smarts driving the functioning of the root cause and Resolution field when a defect is resolved(Fixed/Clpsed states). This would help to drive quality metrics, but it seems that this can only be achieved by changing how the Defect object operates or using a workflow. Any ideas?

    We have a similar requirement and were hoping the work rules would solve.  Right now, the beta of work rules relies on the schedule state or flow state which is fine for most things, but for defects many of our teams want to trigger a rule based on the defect being Closed vs. waiting for it to be accepted.

    Thanks for the response Sheila. Can you advise how I can access documentation on the beta work rules? Probably will need to request the vendor to turn it on in our subscription. Would be great to have a go at trialling it.
