    Hi all,

I want to change password for superuser using smreg utility.

I have tried below mentioned command:

    ./smreg -su *****

after execution i received below mentioned error:

./smreg: symbol ookup error: ./smreg: undefined symbol: _ZN11CSmObjStore4InitER7CStringbbbbbbbP7CServer

to debug this, i checked one of the CA article in which the resolution provided is to comment out LD_BIND_## in environment file. I have checked environment file, but i din't find any entry like this.

    Request you help on this.

Have we sourced the ENV file ca_ps_env.sh before running smreg.

Check if we are using the same version of smreg which is shipped with the same version of policy server.

If all of the above is checked and it still fails, then as a fallback use XPSExplorer --> Admin --> search for 'siteminder' --> Get a writable copy and update password.

    Hi,

yes we have soruced ca_ps_env.sh before running smreg.

smreg that we are using is shipped with the policy server pack.

we can't access "Management Console" as we are working over VPN and that is not having any static IP.

Any help in getting Management Console accessible would also be helpful.

What version of CA SSO policy server are we using.

Can you use smreg that is shipped with Policy Server installer (not the one shipped with PSOP).

You don't need smconsole, although that is another option.

if smreg still fails you can use XPSExplorer.

Go to <$NETE_PS_ROOT/bin> directory and run ./XPSExplorer.

Login to a telnet session, navigate to $NETE_PS_ROOT/bin. Run XPSExplorer, it is menu based system. You'll know once it launches.

    XPSExplorer - CA Single Sign-On - 12.52 SP1 - CA Technologies Documentation

XPSExplorer --> Admin --> search (upper case S) for 'siteminder' --> Select the number next to 'siteminder' --> Get a writable (Upper case W) copy --> select number next to Password to update password --> after entering password --> Use Update (upper case U) --> Check message Update Successful --> Then Q for Quit all the way to exit XPSExplorer.
