  • 1.  Siteminder Agent crashing: Resource cache failed to initialize.

    Hi,

    I am facing issue with CA Siteminder web agent 12.0.

     

    Agent is getting crashed frequently.

    I am getting below error in Apache error log.

    Failed to fetch SmCacheData object from existing shared segment.

    Resource cache failed to initialize.

    This is semaphore and shared memory related error. Try the below steps to resolve this issue.

     

    1. Stop the web server and ensure that both LLAWP and HTTPD are not running. 
    2. Remove the semaphore and shared memory keys.
    3. Start the web server.

    The Error message states "Unable to initialize shared memory segment". It seems like this was raised a year ago under the same ID "UtxSupport".

    Apache Error Log 

    It seems like we did suggest cleanups and that hasn't resolved the problem.

     

     

    I'd also recommend looking at the following

    1. tuning Shared Memory settings.

    2. When the error occurs what is the state of Semaphore and Shared Memory Segments (Do you see a list OR there is none in the list).
