I am unable to Start "OneView Monitor Service (SiteMinder Health Monitor Service)" on 12.7 SP01 Policy Server running on Windows Server 2012 R2.
When i try to start, it is getting stopped immediately from Policy Server Management console. And recording below message on Windows Event Viewer.
I found this document which might be helpful, but this is for Redhat OS,
Stop OneView Monitor Service
Hi . Also, is this reproducible? What does the smps.log and the smtrace.log say at the day and time of
SiteMinder Health Monitor Service service terminated unexpectedly message? What is the version of java the policy server is using?
Yes we can reproduce. every time it is happening
Oracle JDK1.8 Update 162
Policy Server OS: Windows Server 2012 R2
Policy Server Version: 12.7 SP01.
We have 11 Hosts in environment, only on one host we are seeing this issue
If you run this service as administrator from command line, C:\CA\siteminder\bin\Service_MonSrvr.exe
Do you get any error message back?
F:\CA\siteminder\bin>service_monsrvr.exe -startStarting SiteMinder Health MonitorSiteMinder Health Monitor service started
F:\CA\siteminder\bin>service_monsrvr.exe -start -debugStarting SiteMinder Health MonitorSiteMinder Health Monitor service started
F:\CA\siteminder\bin>service_monsrvr.exe -stopControlService failed - The service has not been started.
For troubleshooting, let's trace the Monitor. Hopefully we can see why it is not starting. It could be a blocked port for example.
In this mon.log, you should see messages like this:
(MONAPI ) > Sm_MonApi_RegisterComponent(): start(MONAPI ) > reinitiateChannelIfClosed(): start(MONAPI ) > reinitiateChannelIfClosed(): completed(MONAPI ) > Sm_MonApi_RegisterComponent(): completed(MONAPI ) > processTransactionMessage() start
Also if I may suggest, due to the nature of this issue with the tracing needed and potential log review required, it might be better to go ahead and create a Support ticket and reference your Communities post.
