  • 1.  Populating ServiceNow with SOI CI's

    Posted Jul 25, 2017 05:00 PM

Hello, so we are starting our Service Now migration and the topic of how do we get all the CI's w/in SOI into SN is up.

What method do folks use today with their current SOI & SN integration? How do you keep the Ci's in SOI populated and up to date within SNOW?

We have UIM and Spectrum so those connectors populate the SOI DB with CI's in each respective domain manager.

Any tips here would be appreciated.

    Hi Dan,

The ServiceNow connector has the southbound (in bound to connector) Service synchronization capabilities, if configured properly CI's from SOI will be synchronized with SN. You'll find the connector documentation here "https://docops.ca.com/soi-connectors/servicenow-connector-4-5-01/administrating-ca-connector-for-servicenow/configuration-and-customization#ConfigurationandCustomization-ConfigureSOItoSupportInboundCISynchronization". Is this what you are looking for?

    Thanks

    Hi Shaheen,

Do you mean that the SOI's SN Connector will populate SN with the CI's that exist in SOI?

Meaning if in SOI I have 1000's of servers being monitored UIM, and those computer systems exist in SOI will the SN connector then create all those machines in the SN's CMDB, or its Asset inventory section?

    Hi Dan,

Based on the SN connector document that is what it was supposed to do if configured properly.

    Thanks
