Unfortunately following the normal process does not work. Using extension policy does not work for “Classify” tag because the default policy has a wildcard “.*” that maps all unknown SCOM CIs to Application class.
So it looks like we have to modify the master/default policy and customer will have to add the changes to new policy file after upgrading the connector.
Development is investigating the default policy and use of the wildcard .* and Application class. When there are many add on management packs there are excessive “projection sheets” for some CIs and the max projection sheets is 9 … so some CIs will never get created properly.
Mapping these add on management pack CIs to another class may or may not work --- if projection sheets it still over 9 for some CIs the CI will not be created properly and there will be alerts with name “unknown”.
