  • 1.  Any Way to Trigger Escalation on Alert Update

    Posted Dec 13, 2016 08:31 AM

We have an alert in a Queue, and if an update comes in for that Alert where something changes (severity, or maybe something in the alert Message) we would like to trigger an escalation policy. Is there any way to check new value against old value as part of escalation criteria?

    Hello Brian,

Please refer below video on the same topic

Triggering Multiple Escalation Actions on the Same Alert

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks

This video is helpful if you had queue criteria with a small number of choices... but does not address a more generic use case - such as the case where something in the alert message changes.

Yes, this is how it is designed.

Basically, an alert only escalates once for each policy, not each time the alert is updated.

    Hi Brian,

The way it is designed it, escalation policy checks alert against AlertID and if it s alrerady executed for the same alert (No severity change and changes in message) it will not execute again. So with the default design I do not see any way when same escalation policy can be triggered.
