  • 1.  SNMP Connector Policy will not create CIs until

    Posted May 15, 2015 05:24 AM

    Hi,

After troubleshooting against not being able to create CIs inside SOI, -though receiving the Alerts with Unknown class-, we noticed that the cause was the existence of <Write> section, within "Item" EventClass. Once it was removed, the policy worked fine, creating the expected CIs.

    Any former experience on that?

    We are using ca-soi-33_CatalystConnector SNMP

    Thanks,

    Vaggelis

    Hi VaggelisB,

You need to open a support case with CA.

    Thanks

    Hi Vaggelis,

The Write statement is used to pass variables from one block to other ones.

It has to be used properly in order to really get all contents across.

I have seen several cases where the CIs did not get generated because mandatory where not filled, and this was due to not getting the contents of the variables across due to a wrong or missing Write statement,

Removing the Write Statement from your block seems to have solved the problem, because then the Write statement from the higher-level block takes effect.

If you want to get more details of your specific case, please attach the policy here or send it to me (Michael.Boehm@ca.com) for further analysis.
