    In SOI, there are 2 type of Preferences, group and indivdual.
    The indivdual preferences will take precedent over the group unless you checked the "Locked" box.

    Here's are the steps to create an alert filter for a group and make sure it apply to all users in that group.

    In SOI Console, go to Users tab.
    Right click on a group and select Set Preferences.
    Expand Alerts Tab, select Alert Filter and click on the "Set Alert Filter..." button, add a new alert filter or use an existing alert filter.
    Once you have setup your alert filter, checked the "Locked" box.
    By locking this, it will make sure all users in that group will use the group alert filter.
