Migrate Service Management from Oracle to SQL Server

    Hi

    I´m planning to migrate my service management solution (Service Desk, Service Catalog and USS) from Oracle to SQL Database.

    I know the procedures from Service Desk (via pdm_extract / load utilities), USS(export utility) but for Catalog I know only export utility that exports configurations (service offerings, forms, rules)

    It is possible to migrate user data (user contact details and service offerings that was opened by the users?)

    Although we do not have a supported/easy way to accomplish this, I have had clients do this via pdm_backup/pdm_restore commands. The post Brian referenced should help out.

    Thanks Brandon!  The challenge with this specific inquiry is that its not just Service Desk, but the whole solution, SDM, Catalog, USS, PAM etc.  Pdm_backup/restore will only extract the SDM data and not the rest of the data from the other apps.  Only a third party tool can do the MDB as a whole

    Hi Paulo,

    Unfortunately there is no easy way to do that.  The only thing you can try is looking for a third party tool that can pull data and schema from Oracle into SQL.  Outside of that, we dont have a supported way to do that for each of the products or the solution as a whole.
