  • 1.  Cannot Initialize Report Engine server (Error RWI 00226)

    Hello All,

     

    After migrating over SQL server to new version, we get the below error while running reports in BOXI R3. When I checked the CMC, I can see the CMS server to be stopped, I cannot start the CMS manually. Please help me with resolving the issue

    What steps did you take when moving SQL server to a new server?

    Are you still encountering this issue?

     

    If so, what steps did you take when moving SQL server to a new server?

     

    In addition, did you reconfigure CABI correctly to point to its CMS database on the new server?

    Hello Paul,

     

    We migrated to MS SQL 2014 server, then we started to face this issue, After checking the BOXI R3.1 support matrix, It is found that BOXI CMS database does not support MS SQL 2014 Server, So backed out

     

    Now, can changing the compatibility of MS SQL 2014, resolve the issue. Please provide your suggestion

    Here are the recommended steps to move the CABI CMS database from one SQL server to another server:

     

    Moving Business Intelligence CMS SQL Server database to another SQL database server 

     

    What exact version of CABI 3.x do you have installed (select HELP->ABOUT from the Central Management Console and provide the version listed)

    I would like to know the exact product version as this will indicate any Service Packs or hot fixes installed.

    What version of SQL is the CABI CMS currently on?

     

    Based on the version of CABI 3.1 that you have installed, the latest SQL version supported is SQL 2008.

    Currently It is in MS SQL 2008

    Do you suggest to try SQL 2014, changing the compatibility that is equivalent to SQL 2008?

    Please Advise..

    You can try, but there is no guarantee that it will work.

     

    Ideally, you should be running a version of BOXI/CABI that supports SQL 2014.
