Web-engine and web-director not working

  • 1.  Web-engine and web-director not working

    Hi All,

     

     

    CA service desk

     

    We are in process of configuring the additional web-engine in secondary server but it seems we have followed wrong steps and now we are unable to restore back to the existing set-up in DEV. We have primary and one secondary server. Is there any best practice or document to perform the default setup for web-engine and web-director. Please help.

    What is the SDM release?

    depending on your release instruction will be different. so answer to SANDRA ANTUNES will be first

    pdm_edit prior to 12.9

    admin GUI from 12.9

    you may also want to share your respective pdm_startup and web.cfg file (primary/secondary)

    Just back today, was you able to fix your problem? are those servers in the same network segment?

    I can see that you have duplicate procset in your pdm_startup that are conflicting. did you edit that manually? as this is definitively wrong and the first one need to be removed

     

    [ procset _REMOTE_PROCSET ]

    MAIN_PROCSET

    _REMOTE_QMNAMS1129

    _REMOTE_qmnams1129

     

    In fact looking at your daemon status the secondary have correctly started but the second one listed there is the duplicate reference in your pdm_startup

    so just remove it  and you must be good

    Hi Mayer,

     

    I tried removing the above one as suggested, but web engine and web director is not running. Also, primary service didn't started. Please advise.

    Do you have a backup of the affected files? If so, you could restore them and then reconfigure SDM.

    After that, you would need to enter the information again.

    Let me know if that is possible so I can provide you some tips on how to do it.

    Hi Sandra,

     

    Thanks for your response. I have backup of the web.cfg and pdmconf files.Also,can you please let list the files needed  and your tips are welcome.

    Hi Mohan

     

    If you have a backup of folder NX_ROOT/samples/pdmconf before trying to do the changes you did, you can restore it and then follow one of these tecdocs with instructions on how to do it:
