Visualizer Not working

Hello All,

 

CASD 12.7

 

When user clicks on the visualizer button, message displayed in browser as  "This page can’t be displayed". Also, we are not able to logonto Viz using below link.

 

http://appserver:9080/CMDBVisualizer/ . In the status check, visualizer is found to be in running state and tried to recycle the application service to make it work but still no go. Any inputs on this will be helpful.

Hi Mohan,

Take a look at the tomcat VIZ log and make sure that tomact for visualizer is starting up.  When you get a "page cannot be displayed" message on a browser, that usually means the web server it is trying to access is not running - in this case that would be the tomcat instance for Visualizer.  Also you can run a netstat -ano and see if anything is listening on port 9080.

What is the exact url that opens when the "page cannot be displayed" is displayed? Perhaps the url is not formatted correctly for some specific reason or routing to the wrong place.

pdm_status does not show if the tomcat instance for VIZ is running or not. It simply lists if the Tomcat controller for VIZ

is running or not so you can't tell if Tomcat instance for VIZ is running or

not from pdm_status

From what you said here it seems Tomcat instance for VIZ may

not run or run on a different port. In the config.properties file

do you see

viz.tomcat_port=9080

? and what info in pdm_tomcat_VIZ.log file you see(this file is in /log folder)? and in stdlog, when SDM is recycled, do you see something like this?

I can able to see that the viz.tomcat_port=9080 in config.properties file. also, attached the logs for reference.

Run pdm_configure and try to point to a different port for Visualizer. I've seen this work for me before ;-)

Hi Mohan,

 

Looks like your visualizer Tomcat started fine.  Visualizer_log.log, jsrvr.log    and Tomcat's  localhost**.log (catalina_base_viz/logs) in conjunction might give a better along side.

 

Is there a firewall on that host too?

 

Does this work for other users?

 

Does it work on the server itself ?

 

Finally,  can the user resolve the hostname  'appserver'  ?  Maybe this is all a DNS issue if its working for other users ?

Can you launch it on the Server directly?

Is this a new error or has it never worked? If not, is this a browser with the proper support for Flash?

 

Do you get a different error if you try to login via:  http://appserver:9080/CMDBVisualizer/externallaunch.do?

Update:

 

The same error am getting when trying  to access via http://appserver:9080/CMDBVisualizer/externallaunch.do? this link.Earlier, I tried using the Primary server, it woked fine but using the secondary it is getting failed.

Run pdm_configure on the Secondary and confirm the port numbers there and that it is not in conflict.
