    Hello All,

     

    CASD 12.7


    I want to know about the Knowledge Base  logo and it's features. whether the KB logo image is referred from the main logo or we can edit the KB logo alone if so, do we have any procedure for that.Please share your knowledge on this.

    Hi Mohan,

     

    Can you perhaps add a screen print highlighting the logo you are referring to on KB document?

    Hi Brian,

     

    I have found the way to update  logo in KB template view.How ever, the below code have been specified in the logo area on htmpl view,

     

    <ul></ul><B><IMG style="WIDTH: 217px; HEIGHT: 46px" height=39 alt="" hspace=0 src="RepId=doc_rep:4984933&amp;AttmntId=25256434&amp;Bpsid=0" width=295 align=baseline border=0></B></P><P>

     

    If I want to change the logo image then where I need to place this logo image and refer it here in src link.Also, in the above src have been mentioned as Resid and Attmnt id. does it refer to any attched files in SD.

    Mohan,

     

    It sounds like this was customized at some point, as I am also not quite sure which logo you are referring to. Out of the box there are no files in the attachment repository, so the AttmntID specified would not be in a typical system. Furthermore the doc_rep id of 4984933 would also not be in a clean install.

    I assume if you want to change the image you can follow the same template that is here, and upload your image into the repository then populate the correct doc_rep and id value that correlate to your new attachment, but it's hard to say for certain without having more details into how this was originally put into place.

    Hi Alexander,

     

    Thanks for your response. can you please let me know whether we can directly upload the required image to the Image repository or attach the logo image to the SD reporsitory by attaching the logo image to the some ticket and with the required details  whether I will be able to retrive in HTML code.

    is there anyway to upload the image directly to Image repository.

    Mohan,

     

    If you go into the Administration tab, go to "Attachment Repository", then browse to the "Images" Repository and the containing folder you can right click and have an option to upload a file directly into the Repository.

    There is the concept of using a knowledge template which would typically have the knowledge image pre-populated ...

     

    Typically I have seen clients set up templates by the "main category" / sub category name (you'd obliviously want a default template/ catch all)  and then have KB images as part of the template , this way the knowledge document would conform with a certain technical document standard ...

     

    I am not too clear on what needs to be achieved here , but tinkering with with repository id's attachment ids seems a bit "over thinking"  in my opinion ... but then again I could be off base in understanding the exact requirement.

    Hi Sherwin,

     

    Am trying to insert a new logo image to the KB documents using the KB template, I have found the way to update the logo image but the image is not properly displaying. I would like to know the display image supported types of CASD 12.7 or possibilities that image is not displaying properly(only rectangular box with empty area inside is shown in the place of image)

    Mohan,

     

    Out of the box the images repository allows gif, jpg and jpeg format. I tried your code in my template (just changing it to my rep and my attachment) and found that both gif and jpg worked without an issue.

    If it's not working perhaps something else in the html isn't correct. Have you tried reverting to the default html and then reinserting the image?
