Running NDG scan for ESX servers

My client is not able to get us access to the ESX servers that host multiple VM ,which is why we arnt able to get Server Details (1 Component ) as part of the NDG scan. Typically if we have access to the servers post the NDG scan we get 1 component back (server details) ... along with OS type / OS detail.

 

I wanted to know with the above restriction is there away for us to perform a scan (NDG scan) and get minimal information back like OS detail / OS family/type ?

 

In terms of access to ESX what are the requirements for us to get access to the server details as part of the NDG scan , do we need sudo root access ?

Getting server details of guest vms has nothing to do with esx.   Server details are gathered from soft agent discoveries of the target machine itself,  assuming those hosts are part of the inclusion list or are attempting to use the vCenter discovery option of along with server relationships

 

The ideal situation /solution is to discover the network using vCenter,  along with the right credentials.   This will discovery the managed vCenter and it's esx servers along with each guest vms and information that is discovered what is set within VMware.   For server details, during the same discovery, make sure the guest vm is credentials are part of the credential vault.
