    Hello,

Is it possible to create an alert on CA APM related to the alerts of type ORA-5xx for example in the alert.log file of an Oracle Database.

    HI Nacef:

I took a quick look and did not see an immediate answer . But EP Agent and a log scraping script  should be able to do this. Did you explore that avenue?

    Thanks

    Hi Hallet,

    Thank you for your answer,

Any specific documentation to help implementing it?

    Best Regards

    Dear Nacef:

    Thanks for asking

EP Agent - CA Application Performance Management - 10.5 - CA Technologies Documentation

Scripts gather information from a wide variety of sources, such as:

Calling a library function or system utility to check the existence of a critical application, such as a database.

Sample log readers scripts are included which generate metrics

    Also see https://docops.ca.com/ca-apm/10-5/en/implementing-agents/ep-agent/epagent-default-plug-ins#EPAgentDefaultPlug-ins-apacheLogReader.pl,weblogicLogReader.pl,andwebsphereLogReader.pl

Is that enough to get you started?

I will ask internally for others to respond on other approaches

    Thanks

    Hal German

    Dear Nacef:

That is correct. These are default scripts that you can use as examples on how to build one for the Oracle alert scripts. One is not supplied out of thebox. Perhaps someone else has done this already. I asked internally for others to respond as well

    Thanks
