Please to advise on the Connection Status metric, initially, it was make available for selection, but we found out the alert is grey off and cannot see the Connection Status under the Custom Metric Process (Virtual) list.

Yes loss of the Connection Status metric could be symptomatic of the AppServer JVM process hosting the agent going down or for cluster environment it could just mean an agent has been load balanced to a different Collector.
