    Hi Oulahna

    isn't the correct hostname smtp.google.com?

Besides, do you have access to that host/port from MoM? To test this, you can login to the MoM server and try

    telnet smtp.google.com 465

to see if you have connection to it

    Regards,

    Roger

    OK

in the first case, you could not login to smtp (using pop3.google.com)

Now you cannot even connect to the server.

The situation here is that you cannot authenticate because Introscope does not have an option to do so.

What version are you using? I think there was a plugin that let you authenticate, I'll search.

If you want to, try searching the community for "smtp authentication"

    Regards,

    Roger

    Hi Oulahna

I've found this information: there is a community plugin that actually triggers a shell script. But there are some Field Packs you can get. Check this post:

The FP mention does not trigger a shell action. YOU have to create a shell action to call the JAR file.

Depending on your APM version, you are better off using the custom email alert action that gives you all of the fields you need to connect your SMTP server and setup your email formatting.

Contact your CA Services rep to get a copy of the FP.

    Hello Davis,

please share installation/configuration guide of FP.

but as I can see in FP it is just used for email formatting, but email configuration still done from APM GUI, but it is failed we contacted support but it seems they can't help.

why we have this issue in APM but all is OK in UIM?

    please clarify.

    Many Thanks

What's seen in this thread is for the built-in functionality of the new email notification feature. It allows for you to customize the email formatting and the server configuration.

What it does not allow you to do is specify a username and password for a secure connection.

For that, we do have an enhanced FieldPack which will allow you to specify credentials for the connection.

Please contact your CA Sales or Services contact to receive a copy. This FP is not a currently supported solution.

    Hi Oulahna,

Is your MOM on Linux\Unix server ?

If yes, you can try unix mail daemon to send mails where HOST would be 'localhost' and Port be'25'. And you dont need to enter credentials.
