The October 11 edition of the Vivit Performance Engineering Special Interest Group which was an exciting session. This discussion focused on Performance Engineering education.
Performance Engineering is relevant and compelling, yet is still misunderstood in some circles. This session addressed the primary challenges around education; who what where and how.
During the session we discussed:
- Meticulously sequenced learning
- Animated diagrams (visual cheat sheets)
- Narrated videos reveal animations
- Runnable scripts of commands in sequence
- Reference to other training.

Wilson Mar - DevOps Superhero - Jetbloom
Wilson Mar is a developer who specializes in tuning for performance and availably of enterprise software. He was one of the first users and bloggers on performance testing. His current work is on code generation and predicative data science that he is sharing with other companies.
Jonathon Wright - Digital Assurance - CA technologies
15 years of international experience, he is the co-author of two award-winning and best-selling books. His research on digital engineering (epistemic and systemic entropy) across Digital Transformation, DevOps and Lifecycle Virtualization
Eric Proegler - Product Manager - CloudTest
Worked in testing for 16 years, and specialized in performance and reliability testing. Organizer for WOPR (Workshop on Performance & Reliability and an executive board member for the association for software testing. Recently started engaging with the testing certification and testing standards community to help respond to the economic tactics.
Todd DeCapua - Senior Director of Technology and Product Innovation - CSC Global
Vivit worldwide volunteer, leader and founder of several chapters, special interest groups and webinars. Technical and global business expert with recognized domain authority in Mobile, Agile, DevOps, Performance Engineering and Internet of Things. Co-author of O'Reilly book "Effective Performance Engineering", speak at leading conferences and contributor to many outlets including SD Times and TechBeacon.
