TIM and EM Version Compatibility

Dear Team:

Sometimes we are asked about TIM and EM Version Compatibility.

 

The general rule is they should be both the same versions. (It may work with different minor versions, but this may not have been tested.)

 

The only exceptions that I know about are

- 9.6 TIM/9.5.3 EM

- 9.6 TIM/9.5.1 with HF 11

 

Please keep this in mind when planning upgrades

So, If the customer is getting the 9.7 TIM Hot Fix for TLS 1.1/1.2 support, we would advise installing 9.7 rather than 9.7.1 . Right?

Hi Ying:

    You can contact me directly. Without my notes in front of me. I believe 9.7 is supported but not 9.7.1. I can check Monday. Regardless of the release, we would need a pcap and the corresponding TIM log to see if the new functionality of TLS 1.1/1.2 would help a particular customer.

A customer asked for the Hotfix with a new ticket for me, while we see you created this notes, so, I joined the discussion here.

Yea, TIM version must match EM (TESS) version, we have request the pcap and TIM logs to check.

So, if you have EM 9.5.3 and TIM 9.6.1 then you should be fine, right?

 

Also, for TLS 1.1 and 1.2 compatibility with this TIM (that I have), I would need to apply hotfixes, right?

EM 9.5.3 and TIM 9.6/9.7 are what I have listed as what would be used if the new TLS 1.1/1.2 functionality is appropriate for your system.9.6.1 would not be compatible as far as know.
